Haemanthus Deformis
These plants can tolerate infrequent watering. However they thrive best with chunky soil and regular watering. (approximately every 4 days indoors and 2-3 days apart outdoors). Fertilize in a diluted formula regularly for best results. If the roots have become black or overly soft, the plant could be experiencing root rot. Cut away black or overly soft roots that may be experiencing root rot and consider amending the soil to make it more chunky and porous.
This plant can thrive well in California and has survived temperatures as low and high as 37 to 107 degrees Fahrenheit.
**Please bear in mind that during winter and spring, these plants transition a new leaf cycle. It may have no leaves or leaves that are dying off as a fresh set emerge.
