Orchid Care Tips and Tricks, Orchids

Orchids are elegant and exotic houseplants that add beauty and sophistication to any space. Popular varieties like Phalaenopsis (moth orchids), Dendrobium, and Cattleya are commonly grown indoors for their long-lasting and colorful blooms.

Basic Orchid Care:
• Light: Most orchids prefer bright, indirect light. East or west-facing windows are ideal.
Avoid harsh midday sun, which can scorch leaves.
• Watering: Water once a week or when the potting medium feels dry. Orchids don’t like
soggy roots—use pots with drainage holes.
• Humidity: Orchids thrive in 50–70% humidity. Use a humidity tray, misting, or a room
humidifier if indoor air is dry.
• Temperature: Maintain daytime temps between 65–80°F (18–27°C) and cooler nights to
   encourage blooming.
• Fertilizing: Use a balanced orchid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during the growing season.
• Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years using an orchid bark mix to ensure good aeration.

Orchid Decorating Tips:
• Use decorative pots or cachepots to enhance their visual appeal—just ensure inner pots
   have proper drainage.
• Group orchids with other tropical plants for a lush, natural look.
• Display orchids on windowsills, tabletops, or in hanging baskets to elevate any room.
• Incorporate orchids into minimalist or spa-inspired décor for a clean, serene aesthetic.
• Mix bloom colors to suit the season or theme—white for elegance, purples and pinks for
romance, or vibrant yellows for energy.

With the right care and styling, orchids can be both low-maintenance and visually striking additions to your home décor.
