Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius is commonly known as Elephant Foot Yam or Stink Lily. This species originate from the tropical regions of Asia and Africa.
Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius grows from a fleshy tuber that resembles an elephant's foot, hence its described name. The tuber stores the plant's nutrients in preparation for the upcoming growth period.
When in active growth, Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius produces large serrated leaves that are deeply lobed and have a glossy light green hue. It's striking appearance makes a beautiful and impressive appearance to any garden.
How to Care for Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius
Soil: These tubers do best in an airy chunky mix that does not stay wet for too long. A consistently wet environment may cause tuber rot. We generally pot our in a 1/3 Coco Bark, Perlite and Coco Coir Mix.
Fertilize: Fertilize in a diluted phosphorous rich solution regularly for best results.
